How to Make Fluffy Slime!

We LOVE Fluffy Slime! We think it’s the best all-round sensory experience in slime, you can make it click, pop, stretch, twist, and you can even add crunch to make it even noisier! It’s more solid than other slime, doesn’t stick to your hands, and less likely to make a mess on the carpet. Kids absolutely love it! What’s more, it even looks a bit like snow, what could be more festive!

The Science Behind Fluffy Slime

Curious minds read on! (If you’re in a hurry to get your hands on your next batch of slime, we won’t mind if you skip this bit!). Slime is made when molecules of different substances bond together to make Polymer chains. A polymer made up of large molecule which are multiples of much simpler chemical units. It’s made of a long chain of repeating atoms. Polymers can be man made or naturally occurring, an example of a natural polymer is DNA!

This is why slime can be stretched, the molecules are all clinging together!

You can use Slime Labs PVA Glue and Slime Labs All-in-One Activator to make many different types of slime!

Finally, here’s the Fluffy Slime recipe we used to make ours!

Please note: We have kept the measurements flexible because how much activator you will need will vary depending on the brand of glue you use! We’ve used Cups as measurements because it’s tricky to measure shaving foam any other way!

Ingredients:

  • 2 Cups - Shaving Foam
  • ½ Cup - PVA Glue
  • ½ Teaspoon – Baking Soda
  • 1 - 4 Tablespoons - Slime Labs All-In-One Activator (Borax Solution)
  1. First measure out the shaving foam into your mixing bowl
  2. Add the PVA glue to the shaving foam and stir thoroughly until completely mixed.
  3. Add the baking soda and mix well.
  4. Add a small splash of activator and keep mixing for at least 30 seconds and assess the consistency of the mixture, if still sticky, add more activator and stir until the mixture is no longer sticky.
  5. Knead your Slime with clean hands, this helps activate.

You’ve got yourself some fluffy white slime! Keep it in a sealed container when not in use and it should last several weeks!

Want to make this slime even more fun? You can add foam balls to turn it into crunchy slime for some very satisfying ASMR!

Enjoy!
